SOCORRO ISLAND and the REVILLAGIGEDO ARCHIPELAGO

Socorro 2023

The Revillagigedo Archipelago is a unique group of four volcanic islands in the Pacific approximately 285 miles southwest of Cabo San Lucas, accessible only by boat.

The Socorro Aggressor will explore the rich waters surrounding the islands of Socorro, Roca Partida and San Benedicto.

From January through March these islands are home to a migratory population of humpback whales that come to breed and have calves. Whale sharks are seen mainly in April/May and November/December.

Divers may observe many different behaviors of Bottlenose dolphin, wahoo, tuna, marlin, mantas at cleaning stations, and smaller creatures like eels, nudibranchs and octopuses.

There are up to ten species of sharks, including whale sharks, white tip, scalloped hammerhead, Galapagos, silky, silver tip, tiger and oceanic white tip.

Resident populations of California sea lions can provide some friendly curious interactions.
